191. What are the advantages of silicone rubber membrane?
Using Rapid Prototyping design and manufacture of product prototypes, and then the molds with silicone rubber, which for complex, precise patterns, non-Taper Angle (even down to a certain extent Taper Angle) or with a deep groove products, new product trial or a single, small volume production, has the following advantages: 1. can greatly reduce trial cycle while the mold is also very easy to modify. Poor performance of the prototype mechanical and temperature resistance is low, in the use of its rapid economic mold make other restricted; the silicone rubber mold can overcome these shortcomings, so that you can use RP prototyping complex parts of the mold. Disadvantages: 1. Silicone rubber of the relatively poor thermal conductivity, if the silicon rubber mold of the curing process, the heat has not been fully distributed, then the quality will significantly reduce mold, silicone rubber mold so difficult to shorten the production time. 2. Durability of silicone rubber is relatively low, for relatively simple parts, if parts have sharp edges or thin, it can only produce a mold generally 30-40, and if part of a very complex mold can only produce 10-15 months, this relatively short life of the mold, silicone rubber mold is generally suitable for part of the trial, as a large part of the production cycle when it is not shorter than the metal mold. 3.
