55. The Cost of Mold Making
The cost of production tooling custom molds depends on many factors ranging from number of cavities, size of the parts (and therefore the mold), complexity of the pieces, expected tool longevity, surface finishes and many others.
The initial cost is high, however, the piece part cost is low. To produce large quantities, the overall price will be decreased.
