276. Rapid prototyping and product design

Rapid prototyping must be used in industrial product design to create physical models regarding computer-aided designs (CAD). Machines may be used to "read in data coming from a CAD drawing in addition to lays down successive layers of fresh, powder, or sheet material, and like this builds up the model coming from a series of cross sections. These levels, which correspond into the virtual cross section in the CAD model, are joined along or fused automatically to create the final design.
