71.Plastic molding processes

Plastic molding is very important in our life , but do you know the process of plastic molding ? Blow introduces to everybody .

1. Injection Molding

In Injection Molding, melted plastic is forced into a mold cavity. Once cooled, the mold can be removed. This process of molding plastic is widely used in mass production or prototyping of a product.Injection molding machines made in 1930. It can be used for a lot of toys, kitchen utensils, bottle caps for the production of mobile phones able to get to talk.

2. Blowing

Blowing is as hot pressing, except that liquid plastic Outbreak of an object vertically in a molten glass. The module is closed and forcing her to face the interior of the shape of the mold. Once cooled, the hollow has formed. Examples of blow molding products are bottles, pipes and tanks.

Equipment necessary for the creation of a blow molding business are relatively higher than the injection.

3. Compression Molding

In this type of plastic molding, a glass of hard plastic is pressed between heated mold halves. Presses used primarily vertical rather than horizontal presses used for injection and blow molding. Formed part is then air cooled. The price of the material used for compression molding ismoderate.

4. Film Insert Molding

This plastic molding technique imbeds an image beneath the surface of a part formed. A material such as film or fabric is inserted into a mold. Plastic is then injected.

5. Gas Assist Molding

Also called gas injection molding is used to create plastic parts with hollow interiors. Partial shot of plastic followed by a high pressure gas to fill the mold cavity with plastic.

6. Rotomoulding

Hollow moldsPacked with plastic powder is sure to pipe-like spokes that extend from a central hub. The molds rotate on separate axes simultaneously. The hub swings the entire mold in a closed furnace room causing the powder to melt and stick to the heart of the instrument. As the molds turn slowly, the tool moves in a cool room. Here in spray water can cause plastic to harden into an empty part. In this type of plastic molding, the tool down and prices are high piece. Cycle time takes about 40-45minutes.

7. Structural Foam Molding

Structural foam molding is a process of molding plastics typically used for parts that require thicker walls of standard injection molding. Adding a small amount of nitrogen or chemical blowing agent in plastic materials for the walls thicker. Foaming occurs when the molten plastic to the mold cavity. It forms a thin skin of plastic solidifies into the wall of the mold. This type of board with a thermoplastic plastic can be usedcan be used injection format.

8. Thermo

This process of molding plastic, sheets of pre-extruded rigid plastics are horizontally heated and drawn into the hollow of a piece of material. When the hot plastic solidifies, its shape matching that of the mold.

Tooling costs are usually low and piece prices vary on your machine.

Plastic molding is a very technical. It must be experienced in this type of production companies to be competitive in the market. Therefore, a systematic and scientific study is the first done before in this project.
