160. Basic information about rapid prototyping
Rapid prototyping is the common name of a number of new automated technologies, which came in the last decade to replace or assist in hand-made models, models or prototypes.
Rapid prototyping involves several steps, the first of which is the mathematical modeling. This technology is to develop a mathematical model of a product in a format STL. Then, to refine the required types of surface texture is carried out to improve the prototype. Note that if you have a sample of parts, manufacturing of the prototype is not required. You are provided of a sample that can be used as a master model in the production of silicone tooling. Prototypes of products also include the refinement of the technologies, direct manufacturing of models and the final revision.
Usually two methods of rapid prototyping are used. They are FDM and 3D-printing. FDM-prototyping is a "growing" product samples in a special installation method of layer deposition half-melted plastic filament emerging from the die, in accordance with the control program. 3D-printing from finely divided powder layers lay out and glued with a special compound.
Over the recent decades rapid prototyping services managed with solving lots of tech problems occurring when trying to show a product, design or model. Have you ever faced such a problem too?
